Hampstead Cleaners Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is made by Hampstead Cleaners in respect of our operations and supply chains. We recognise that modern slavery, in all its forms, is a severe violation of fundamental human rights. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery does not take place within our own business or in any part of our supply chain.

Zero-Tolerance Approach

Hampstead Cleaners operates a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. This policy applies to all individuals working for or on behalf of the company, including employees at all levels, agency workers, contractors, suppliers, and business partners. We will not knowingly engage with any party that is involved in, or found to be turning a blind eye to, modern slavery practices. Where credible concerns arise, we will take immediate steps to investigate and, where appropriate, terminate the relationship and notify the relevant authorities.

Our zero-tolerance stance is embedded in our decision-making processes, from recruitment and procurement to day-to-day management of teams and suppliers. All employees are expected to uphold this commitment and to challenge any behaviour that is inconsistent with our values.

Supply Chain Due Diligence and Supplier Audits

We recognise that the risk of modern slavery can be heightened within extended supply chains. Hampstead Cleaners therefore applies a risk-based approach to assessing suppliers, particularly those involved in the provision of cleaning products, equipment, uniforms, facilities, and labour-related services. New suppliers are assessed for ethical standards, labour practices, and compliance with applicable laws relating to employment and human rights.

We conduct periodic supplier audits and reviews, which may include questionnaires, requests for supporting documentation, on-site visits where appropriate, and verification of labour practices. Suppliers are required to confirm that they do not engage in forced, bonded, or involuntary labour and that they maintain appropriate policies and procedures to prevent modern slavery in their own operations and supply chains. Failure to meet our standards or to cooperate with our audit processes may result in corrective action plans, suspension of work, or termination of the business relationship.

Employee Awareness, Training, and Reporting Channels

Hampstead Cleaners is committed to building awareness among staff so that signs of modern slavery can be recognised and reported. Relevant employees, particularly those involved in recruitment, procurement, and contract management, receive guidance on how to identify potential indicators of exploitation, such as withholding of identity documents, restrictions on freedom of movement, or unexplained deductions from wages.

We maintain clear, accessible channels through which employees, contractors, and other stakeholders can raise concerns about suspected modern slavery or unethical labour practices. Reports can be made confidentially and without fear of retaliation. Any concern raised will be treated seriously, investigated promptly, and escalated as required. Where an investigation substantiates a concern, we will take appropriate remedial measures, including cooperation with law enforcement bodies where necessary.

Governance, Accountability, and Annual Review

Responsibility for overseeing our modern slavery strategy and compliance sits with the senior management team of Hampstead Cleaners. They are accountable for ensuring that appropriate policies, controls, and training are in place and that these remain effective as the business and regulatory environment evolve.

This statement, and the measures described within it, will be reviewed at least once every year. The annual review will consider changes in legislation, developments in best practice, and any findings from internal audits or incident investigations. Where opportunities for improvement are identified, we will revise our policies, training materials, and supplier requirements accordingly to strengthen our approach to preventing modern slavery.

Hampstead Cleaners remains firmly committed to continuous improvement in this area and to working collaboratively with employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders to help eradicate modern slavery and human trafficking from our industry.
